Since 2009, Town Square has been promoting environmental consciousness at the local level through our Greencycle Swaps. We firmly believe that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!

Join us to to recycle, reuse and reduce!  Drop off your cleaned gently-used & working items, browse the selection & fill a bag to take.  No need to bring things to take things.  Out of consideration for others, we may limit what you take to the greater of 1 bag or the total number of bags of items that you bring.  We also do not allow taking donated items to resell.  Why? Because many donors make this request.  And all remaining items are donated to local homeless shelters for  our neighbors truly in need.
We've partnered with Home Life Services that runs 5 shelters in Brooklyn and Bronx including one on Clay Street, Greenpoint. Toys, books and children's clothing will be earmarked for the Albemarle Family Residence in East Flatbush; this shelter was designed by NYC as the best shelter last year, based on perfect school attendance by their 184 children, ages 5 through 18! Please help these children and families while benefiting our environment.
Suggested donation: $10 a family. Town Square is a qualified 501(c)(3) not-for-profit institution. Your donation will be tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
We couldn't do this without you and our partners: CM Stephen Levin, CM Antonio Reynoso, NYC DYCD, Brooklyn Boy Scouts Troop 26,  Brooklyn Public Library, Leonard Library & Greenpoint Library, Friends of Leonard Street Public Library, Friends of Greenpoint Public Library, Home Life Services and NYC DYCD.  A huge THANK YOU!
